Karishma J Bhakta


Karishma Bhakta works with adults and couples to manage troubling thoughts, emotions, and impulses and specializes in helping people who experience anxiety, depression, navigating life stressors, interpersonal conflict, and trauma. Prior to working at Emotion Management Program and Proactive Therapy, Bhakta worked in an outpatient setting doing crisis work and working on an inpatient psychiatric unit with people who were in need of acute mental health care.

Karishma's practice emphasizes the mind-body connection and incorporates mindfulness, yogic, and ayurvedic principles into her work. She is fluent in Gujarati and conversational in Hindi. Her clinical style is collaborative, conversational, authentic, and kind. Bhakta practices a transdiagnostic approach; a hybrid of Cognitive Behavioral approaches, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
